2024 Carbon Reduction Plan: Paving the Way to Net Zero

Supplier name: Recruit Simple – (Trading as HealthTech Medical Supplies)

Publication date: 10th Jan 2025

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Recruit Simple – (Trading as HealthTech Medical Supplies) is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 350 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 22.2%.

This reduction trajectory aligns with our commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency.

We will achieve these reductions through targeted strategies, including transitioning to renewable energy sources, electrifying company vehicles, optimising supply chains, and implementing energy-efficient systems across operations

Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2024 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 67.5 tCO2e, a 15%ge reduction against the 2024 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

Energy Efficiency Initiatives:

• Transitioned 40% of office and warehouse lighting to energy-efficient LED systems.

• Installed PIR (Passive Infrared) motion sensors to minimise energy waste in low-traffic areas.

• Upgraded HVAC systems to energy-efficient models, reducing energy consumption by 10%.

Sustainable Transportation:

• Electrified 20% of the company fleet, reducing Scope 1 emissions significantly.

• Introduced a logistics optimisation program that decreased fuel consumption in distribution routes by 8%.

Waste Management Improvements:

• Implemented a comprehensive recycling program at all facilities, diverting 30% of waste from landfills.

• Partnered with certified waste management services for responsible disposal of hazardous materials.

Renewable Energy Transition:

• Procured 15% of total energy from renewable sources, such as wind and solar, for facilities.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

Increasing the electrification of the company fleet to 50% by 2030, with a long-term goal of 100% by 2040.

Expanding renewable energy procurement to cover 50% of operational energy needs by 2030. Enhancing supply chain collaboration to reduce Scope 3 emissions by requiring suppliers to adopt low-carbon practices. Implementing energy storage systems (e.g., batteries) to maximise the efficiency of renewable energy use.

Launching a staff engagement program focused on sustainability practices, including energy conservation and travel reduction incentives.
